In 2025, CPV Paint & Graphics proudly celebrates its golden anniversary—50 remarkable years of artistry, family, and faith. From its humble beginnings in a two-door garage to becoming a 60,000-square-foot facility with 40 dedicated employees, CPV has painted its way into the hearts of customers worldwide. This milestone is a testament to the vision, innovation, and unwavering commitment of founder Jay Wright and his family.

A Humble Beginning

The story of CPV began in 1975 when Jay Wright, inspired by a custom-painted Dodge Conversion Van he passed on his way to work, decided to chase his dream of becoming a custom painter. Selling his bicycle to purchase his first airbrush and air compressor, Jay took the first steps toward what would become a lifelong passion. Starting with airbrushed murals and unique designs during the height of the conversion van era, CPV quickly gained a reputation for creativity and quality.

Jay’s wife, Donna, played a pivotal role in the business’s early years. From sanding and prepping vehicles to managing the books, Donna’s dedication laid the foundation for CPV’s success. Jay emphasizes, "Without her, there wouldn’t be a CPV." Even their children, Stephany and Steve, contributed by helping prep vehicles from a young age.

Innovation and Excellence: What Sets CPV Apart

From the very beginning, CPV has stood out for its commitment to quality and innovation. Jay’s unique designs respected the natural shape of vehicles, often incorporating curved lines and symmetrical graphics to create a seamless, artistic finish. Techniques like custom oil board stencils revolutionized the way designs were applied, setting CPV apart in a competitive market.

Jay’s dedication to craftsmanship extended beyond the shop. Always striving to improve, he took art classes to refine his skills and develop new techniques. This relentless pursuit of excellence became the cornerstone of CPV’s reputation, a principle the company still upholds today.

A Legacy Built on Family and Faith

CPV has always been more than a business—it’s a family legacy rooted in faith. Jay credits the company’s success to hard work, prayer, and the support of his family. In 2015, after Donna’s passing, Jay’s son Steve and daughter-in-law Dana stepped in to lead CPV into its next chapter. Steve’s vision and leadership have been instrumental in growing the business while staying true to the principles that have guided it for decades: quality, creativity, and faith.

Reflecting on this journey, Jay shares, “Running the business takes a lot of prayer and a lot of faith. God has blessed us with a great business, and I couldn’t have done it without my family.”
